Our Story

Natural entrepreneurs, we founded a landscape company, an organic farm, and then we accidentally discovered a new beverage category.

Our home-brewed Gingerbug sold out at weekend markets and we knew we were onto something big! We pivoted and put everything we had into building Gingerbug as a business. From our beginnings in farm markets, and small local retailers, to now popping up in national grocery chains, it's been a wild ride!

Inventing a New Category

Early on we were so surprised no one else had created a true, fermented ginger beer. There are lots of recipes for DIY (small batch!) dating back as far as Victorian times, but no one had figured out how to brew in volume.

Now we know why! It was difficult to move from bottles and our home operation to cans to the volume that is required for consistent products. And because our product is live, it has to be refrigerated. But that is why it is so unique - and so good for you. Fermented foods are well known for their gut health properties. Why not a drink with those same benefits? Low in sugar but high in bubbly taste, it's a pop of ginger - in a living soda.
